Natural Cures For Gout To Safely Reduce Your Pain

By Sable Woods

Any medical expert can tell you what medication to take for your gout. But many people would rather seek natural cures for gout. One of the most well-known cures is eating cherries, which is said to regulate the effects of gout and even get rid of them permanently, if you eat them on a regular basis. Some people choose to drink cherry juice concentrate instead, which is just as effective since it has the same essential vitamins found in its fruit equivalent.

A charcoal poultice is a natural gout cure used in some parts of the world where cherries aren't as abundant. Charcoal is known as a great remedy for gout and, in poultice form, is especially effective in ridding the body of uric acid toxins. You can easily prepare one by mixing a half cup of powdered charcoal and some spoonfuls of warm water in a blender. Just make sure you add enough water.

Some make a paste with the poultice instead. They rub it on the joint and cover it with a warm cloth, leaving it to sit during the night. If you decide to do this, treat the charcoal with care and make sure it doesn't stain your clothes.

Another natural gout cure is having a charcoal bath. A charcoal bath can be easily prepared by pouring half a cup of charcoal in a tub of warm water, and then placing the affected foot in it for about an hour.

Deciding what to eat is also essential to your fight against gout. Milk and other dairy products, vegetables, and fruits can guard your body, and lots of water consumption helps prevent gout attacks when it washes out body toxins through the kidneys. And certain foods like organ meats and meat extracts, some fish and wild game, and sweetbreads have a high purine amount which can lead to painful uric acid crystals forming in the joints.
